The Role
Palmerston North Hospital is a 350-bed secondary teaching hospital providing one of the largest trauma centres in New Zealand serving an urban population of 80,000 and a total population catchment of approx. 168,000. There are excellent facilities on site including a lecture theatre and library. Personal development and teaching are actively encouraged
This role allows you to develop a sub-specialty interest in Perioperative Medicine, Malignant Hyperthermia, or General Anaesthesia, while working within a modern theatre complex with 9 theatres and 2 procedure rooms. You will benefit from a structured training programme with consultant mentorship, dedicated time for professional development.
You must have completed ACCS or Anaesthetics Core Training and hold primary FRCA
