About the role
We are seeking a specialist paediatric radiologist who preferably also has generalist skills to join a team of professionals.
We have a busy paediatric service within the hospital and your role in part would be to support this service. Duties would include reporting of Neonatal Intensive Care Unit imaging, participation in the multidisciplinary paediatric meetings/image conferences, MRI & CT paediatric reporting and teaching of the registrars as well as generalist reporting.
Radiology has gone through some exciting changes. We have a newly rebuilt state of the art facility with modern equipment, we are growing the service to meet demand and we are focussed on creating and maintaining a welcoming and flexible work environment for all our staff.
We are growing a vibrant team of Consultant Radiologists and Registrars who have well established links into all speciality and subspecialty clinical teams across the district; including providing imaging support as a Level 1 Major Trauma Centre. We are looking to grow the team with particular interest in sub specialities in Paediatrics, Neuro, Nuclear Medicine dual training, Interventional Radiology and cardio thoracic sub-speciality training.
The scope of cases and the pathology is incredible with an interesting and varied case mix. Unique infections, rheumatic fever, indigenous health, rural health through to quad bike injuries – We have it all and what some practitioners from other locations might only read about.
The Hospital is one of New Zealand’s largest teaching hospitals where opportunities to become involved in teaching at undergraduate or postgraduate levels, or even explore fellowship specialities are all possible.
About you
As the ideal candidate, you will be either registered or be eligible for vocational registration within the scope of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology with the Medical Council of New Zealand.
