About the Job

Our client is now looking for GP`s / Family Medicine physicians to join their established practice. It is a growing clinic in need of additional physicians to provide primary health care to Alberta residents.

GP`s see on average between 150 - 200 patients per week. 

Working hours are generally Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm; 1+ evening; and 1 Saturday shift per rotation from 9am to 2pm. Working hours are full time and can be negotiable to an extent.

Physicians share an on-call rotation and results in on-call time approximately twice per month.

GP`s earn 70% of all billings. Average earnings per year are generally over $500,000 CAD minus overhead. Income is dependent on physicians preferences for hours and days worked.

Health Benefits are available for Physicians through our corporate package for Single or Family, costs are 100 percent payable by the Physician as they are a contractor. 

Physicians can take 3 to 6 weeks of unpaid leave. Additional leave amounts are negotiable.

Patients at the clinic receive comprehensive care with physicians, pharmacists, physician specialists, LPNs, medical office leadership working together onsite to demonstrate our commitment to the 10 pillars of the Patient’s Medical Home model.  Established clinic workflows, the latest technology and modern facilities ensure that a strong foundation is available to ensure exceptional patient care. You will thrive in our bustling family practice clinic, serving as an integral member of the team. Working in our clinic and the Westview PCN setting presents unique challenges and rewarding opportunities. 

Each physician has an office (computer, phone, printer, etc) and two dedicated treatments rooms.  There are approx 22 patient rooms utilized by all our doctors and 2 larger dedicated treatment rooms for medical procedures.

There is currently a 10 doctor team already established with a variety of specialties including dermatology, internal medicine, obstetrics & gynaecology, mental health, women’s health, ECG and Pulmonary Function testing.

The clinic provides tremendous support to physicians from setting up their practice to daily technology and administrative support. Every 3 to 4 physicians are supported by 1 licensed practical nurse and 1 medical office assistant.

Any sub-speciality areas are also welcomed. 

Some physicians also oversee Medical Residents in the clinic as they are professors in family medicine at the University of Alberta school of Medicine, so teaching opportunities can also be available for those with an interest.

The Location:

Stony Plain and Spruce Grove, nestled 18 kms west of Edmonton, offer a blend of rural charm and close proximity to urban amenities. Surrounded by picturesque landscapes, these communities boast a combined population of over 35,000 residents, spanning all age groups from young families to seniors. Located just a short drive from Edmonton, and with easy access to major highways, Stony Plain and Spruce Grove provide a peaceful yet connected lifestyle. Whether enjoying local parks and trails or accessing healthcare facilities, residents benefit from a balanced community environment ideal for both living and practicing medicine. Most of our physicians live in Edmonton city itself, and commute the easy 20 to 30 min drive to Spruce Grove for work.

The clinic is a modern building with all amenities including a full kitchen. Building is less then 6 years old with AC, free parking, heating, with dedicated property management staff.  The building is in close proximity to two major highways, restaurants, schools, and parks.

There is also a Radiology clinic, pharmacy, Physio, and Psychologist in the same building. The building is also located in close proximity to fitness studio, Orthopaedic surgeon, Psychiatry, insurance company, kids martial arts classes, Occupational Therapy, and Cosmetic laser services.

• Support same-day appointments to enhance accessibility and patient satisfaction

 

Requirements:

GP`s must be eligible for Licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta:
• Medical degree from a recognized medical institution, including international medical schools.
• Must have Completed a GP residency training program in Family Medicine from either the UK, Ireland, United States, Australia, New Zealand or Canada only 
• Commitment to patient-centered care
