Head Medical is on the lookout for an experienced and established Plastic Surgeon Consultant with a strong focus on cosmetic surgery to join a thriving private practice in the North-West of England.
As a lead Consultant, you will work in collaboration with an expert team of fellow Surgeons, Nurses, and Patient Co-ordinators who have supported thousands of men and women considering cosmetic surgery and are committed to continually providing patients with the highest level of care, before, during and after surgery.
The role involves a balanced split of responsibilities between patient consultations and surgical procedures, with 2-3 operating days a week scheduled as 10-hour sessions based at their state-of-the-art hospital. You'll be performing surgeries such as breast augmentations, rhinoplasty, facelifts, body contouring, and reconstructive surgery.
The organisation is flexible on how these hours are delivered and can offer various contract types such as full-time/part-time/contracted/locum hours - your preference can be discussed at the interview stage.

This consultant position is open to both UK-based and international surgeons who meet the required qualifications below and are committed to delivering exceptional patient care.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Consultations: Conduct thorough pre-operative consultations, including patient assessments, treatment planning, and discussing surgical options to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Surgery: Perform a range of cosmetic surgical procedures, including:
- Breast surgery (augmentation, reduction, lift, implant replacement).
- Body surgery (liposuction, abdominoplasty, and related procedures).
- Facial surgeries (rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty, facelifts, etc.) – optional but highly valued.
- Post-Operative Care: Ensure high standards of post-operative follow-up and support to patients, addressing any concerns and ensuring patient satisfaction

The specialist-built diagnostic and surgical centre in Merseyside England provides a wide range of procedures, including private scans and imaging (MRI, CT, X-ray and Mammograms) and cosmetic surgery procedures including breast enlargement, tummy tuck surgery and nose surgery.

Patient Consultations can take place on the hospital's main site in Merseyside or at private clinics situated centrally in the cities of Manchester and Liverpool.
Requirements to Apply?
- Medical Degree: MBBS or equivalent recognized qualification.
- Certification: CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) in Plastic Surgery or equivalent.
- Fellowship or Membership: FRCS (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons) or equivalent - Passed the FRCS (Plast) examination ideally
- GMC Registration: Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC), with a license to practice on the GMC Specialist Register.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification experience in plastic and cosmetic surgery with a excellent track record
- Clinical Skills: Expertise in aesthetic and reconstructive procedures with proven outcomes.
- Leadership Skills: Requires a combination of clinical expertise and strong leadership skills to provide the highest standard of patient care, lead a surgical team, and contribute to a positive, collaborative environment
- Patient Focus Leadership: Demonstrating empathy towards patients, which is essential for trust-building and delivering a patient-centered approach.
- Maintaining Patient Dignity: Ensuring patients feel respected and valued, especially as plastic and cosmetic procedures are often highly personal.
- Managing Expectations: Leading patients through realistic discussions on expected outcomes, helping them make informed and satisfactory choices.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in facial cosmetic surgery is advantageous.
- Internationally qualified surgeons with equivalent credentials and a willingness to register with the GMC Specialist Register are encouraged to apply
