Key Responsibilities:

  • Your clinical role will be working across the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) Medical Same Day Emergency Care (mSDEC) and provide in reach to the Emergency Department (ED).
  • You will work 1:6 weekends.
  • MAU is a 57 bedded unit. When working in MAU for the day you will be one of a team of 3 Acute Medicine Consultants contributing direct clinical care to patients alongside the Junior doctor/ assistant clinical practitioner (ACP) workforce and ward MDT. We also work closely with all our medical specialities who provide Speciality Consultant In reach/Ward rounds 1-2 times per day, 7 days per week.
  • The improved Same Day Emergency Care Centre was relaunched at a new on-site location during 2018 and has a dedicated nursing team and a junior doctor workforce. As part of rota commitments you will contribute to Consultant shifts in SDEC.

Requirements to Apply:

  • Substantive Consultant Evidence of entry on GMC Specialist Register or within 6 months of attaining CCT at time of interview.
