SPECIALIST ANATOMICAL PATHOLOGIST
The District serves communities throughout North and West Auckland, a population of approximately 640,000 people and employing more than 8,400 people. The Surgical Pathology Unit provides the histology and cytology services to our two main hospitals, BreastScreen Northland and BreastScreen Auckland Central. Our IANZ accredited, well equipped department processes approximately 52,000 specimens from 30,000 patients per year from a range of specialties including, but not limited to, gastroenterology, breast, gynaecology, genito-urinary, skin and head and neck. The Unit is seeking a permanent full time Anatomical Pathologist.
We currently have 12FTE specialist Anatomical Pathologists on staff working as generalists with areas of subspecialist interest. Our department participates in the registrar rotation for the Auckland training scheme. Experience in cytopathology is desired.
The successful applicant must hold or be eligible for current registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand and The Royal College of Pathologists of Australasia (RCPA).
