We are recruiting for a group practice located in the city of Ballarat, a DPA location, which is just over an hour from Melbourne.
• Established patient base from day one
• Supportive working environment
• Mixed billing (40% private billing)
• Relocation assistance ( $20k upfront payment, flight reimbursement, accommodation on arrival, vehicle)
The Role
We’re working with a group practice who have 3 clinics in the city of Ballarat, all are in central locations and have had established patient bases since 2009.
Due to a number of retiring GPs there are now several vacancies available at these busy and well managed clinics. They are keen to attract UK trained GPs who have a patient –focused approach to healthcare. Their clinics provide a wide range of services, they aren’t looking for any specific special interests but will support any that you do have. Doctors see 4-5 patients an hour.
All the clinics are modern, purpose built and fully equipped with treatment rooms and are supported by a practice manager, administration staff along with plenty of experienced nurses who assist with chronic health care plans, immunisations, minor procedures and PAP smears etc. There is also on-site pharmacy, physiotherapy & pathology along with other AHP support.
Clinic opening hours are Monday to Friday 8.30am – 6pm and one of the practices is open Saturday 8am-12pm.
You will be included in the out of hours consortium with a group of local doctors which is mostly telephone triage and rarely a consultation. On-call is approximately 1 in 30.
Full time GPs are earning over $350k
• Minimum 12 month contract
• Competitive % of billings
• Financial relocation assistance
• Reimbursement of flight costs
• Accommodation provided on arrival
This is a great opportunity to join an established practice with a lovely working environment and to become part of a fantastic community.
The Location
Ballarat is a thriving regional city, it's 60 mins to the suburbs of Melbourne and around 80 minutes from Melbourne airport .
Living in Ballarat has all the advantages of living in a Melbourne suburb (e.g. entertainment, dining, access to the CBD) with none of the disadvantages (e.g. expensive housing, traffic, parking difficulties); It’s a city rich with history, arts and cultures, excellent schools and recreational facilities. There are numerous festivals and sporting events throughout the year along with a wide variety of restaurants and nightlife.
It’s a great place to raise a young family with a real sense of community!
What Head Medical can do for you
Arranging a position overseas is very exciting, but we understand that it can also be daunting and time consuming. We’re the UK’s specialist in international medical recruitment and we’ve helped many Doctors relocate since we first started out in 2008 (you can read what people have said about working with us on our testimonials page). We know it’s important to balance career opportunities with lifestyle and we’ll talk through your plans and will get to know you to make sure we find the right role in the right location.
Once we have secured a job for you, we’ll manage the Medical Registration and Visa application process, and support you (and your family) with the relocation itself
