Our newest Registration Consultant, Anne Warren, spent over 4 years in Australia, living in Sydney, Canberra and Melbourne.
In her free time she travelled around in her campervan finding 'awesome' beaches or hidden rivers and generally living a very Aussie lifestyle.
These are the tales of her Australian Adventures and some of the fantastic experiences she would highly recommend!
Sydney - New South Wales (NSW)
Well, Sydney has nearly everything, all the hustle and bustle of a city yet right on the coast and home to probably the world’s most famous beach BONDI! As lovely as Bondi is it is very much a people watching place because everyone is so fashionable - even when they are working out on many of the gym/exercise areas!
It's great to do the amazing cliff walk (not dangerous at all) from Bondi to Coogee. You will walk through 2 other beaches on the way and in my opinion they are actually nicer than Bondi beach, less pretentious, less crowded, and definitely have more of laid back family atmosphere with barbecues available so you can enjoy the Aussie sun while “cooking a snag on the barbie”
In Coogee, the Coogee Bay Hotel is renowned for it's “Sunday Sessions” and is a great place to eat have a few drinks and watch a band. You will often see a lot of the Home and Away stars hanging around here and some even perform with their bands.
There are obviously lots of well known attractions, such the Opera House and the Bridge however, a great way to see the city from a different angle is to get the ferry to Balmain in the North part of the City. Balmain is a great area for funky café bars and is just a short trip boat trip (with spectacular views) away.
There's also loads to do just outside Sydney, with the Blue Mountains, Snowy Mountains, many wineries just a short drive away, making it very easy to arrange tours to any of these destinations.
Look out for the next instalment of Anne's Australian Adventures when we're off to Canberra in the Australian Capital Territory (ACT)
